Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS or Directive 2002/95/EC)
limits the use of specific hazardous materials found in electrical and
electronic products (known as EEE).
The importance of this compliance is based on the fact that the
restricted materials are hazardous to the environment and pollute
landfills, and are also dangerous during its manufacturing and recycling.
All businesses that sell or distribute applicable EEE products, components,
or cables directly to EU countries, or sell to resellers, ire affected by this
compliance if they utilize any of the restricted materials.
RoHS-like regulations have spread to a number of other countries, so this just doesn't apply to EU countries anymore
