Firstly, please bear in mind that, according to our guide on how to use BLE beacons with Situm, custom fields should be created in the building and not the floor.

Secondly, in case you are indeed using custom UUIDs, these should look as shown below:

67672bc0-e510-11e9-8a30-19f56ef57765

So a good way of finding out if the UUID is correct or not is to check that the UUID is complete by comparing it to the other UUIDs in its group.

Moreover, to see whether or not your device is detecting the beacons when positioning, you could check through the Situm Mapping Tool app:

  1. Go to Settings and click on Display and Advanced Settings:

  2. Then scroll down and enable Show sensors info:

  3. Go back to the main page using the arrow or the button on the phone and start positioning. Then, click on the section highlighted below:

  4. Situated on the Beacons tab, click the icon with the three vertical dots and choose Filter layouts:

Normally, Situm and Kontakt layouts are listed by default but if your device is also picking up the signal of the beacons whose UUID you've specified on the Custom Fields of your building, they will be listed here too:

To go back to the main positioning page, you can either tap cancel or go back using your phone's arrow button.
