The configuration screen allows you manage some of the main Situm configurations for your building, such as:

  1. Positioning Model. You will be able to visualize the current positioning model for WiFi and BLE, as well as regenerate it based on new settings.
  2. Calibrations. You will be able to list the calibrations and visualize them. You will also be able to activate/deactivate calibrations, generating a new model for your building.
  3. Path width. You will be able to modify the influence distance of each calibration point around itself, generating a new model for your building.

The Configuration option can be selected from the main menu of any building:

On this screen you can see the different options to configure the indoor location system.

1) Positioning model: It is the model generated from the calibration files. It is composed by the signals measured in each building and they are used to estimate the smartphones position. Click on Visualize model and you can visualize the positioning model for each floor.

Note: The positioning system will only work in the areas that have been previously calibrated.

2) Positioning configuration: This option is used to increase the width of the calibration paths, which define the corridors width through which user will navigate.

A higher width helps us to cover more area with less calibration routes. However, it will have a lower accuracy.

Anytime it can be changed both in the Dashboard and in the Situm Mapping Tool.

3) Calibration: Files made with the information sent by Wifi and BLE signals, which is measured in each building location using the Situm Mapping Tool app. You can select the calibrations that you want to use and even delete some of them.

You can visualize the WiFi and BLE data points captured in each calibration or more than one (select the calibrations and click on Visualize).

The green color represents areas with a high density of data points, which increases the quality of the positioning. The red color indicates a low density of them.

You may use the arrows in order to change the current visualization (WiFi, BLE or calibration paths available).
